The fourth series of ships built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique

Ordered by MSC Cruises in 2014, the ships from the Meraviglia series are part of the fourth series of ships built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique. MSC Meraviglia, the first unit of the series delivered in May 2017, was followed by MSC Bellissima in March 2019, MSC Grandiosa in October 2020 and MSC Virtuosa one year later. Finally, MSC Euribia will be delivered during the second half of 2023.

Thanks to an optimized designing process, these ships enable the passengers to enjoy a large scale of activities while guaranteeing exceptional performances in terms of maneuverability, versatility and respect of the environment.

Among the many attractions offered to the passengers, one shall mainly note the unique back lounge used in the frame of exclusive shows performed by the Cirque du Soleil, Super Amusement Park and Aqua Park facilities on the upper bridges, as well as a central avenue offering a theme-based promenade with many activities.

The accommodation is also enriched by the addition of combinable cabins that can turn into a small apartment for families, and the many restaurants offer the widest variety of food from all around the world. The VIP offer, as tradition wants it, grants access to an exclusive area called “Yacht Club”. This meticulously crafted area includes a spacious solarium, a lounge and private restaurant, in addition to duplex suites located at the front of the ship.

This new series is equipped with all the technological novelties discovered in the frame of the Ecorizon© program, conducted by Chantiers de l’Atlantique since 2007. Just like its predecessors, no waste is thrown in the sea. They also benefit from a hull and a propulsion system optimized to offer higher energy efficiency. The use of scrubbers allows the smokes to be cleaned, thus guaranteeing the lowest possible emission of SOx (Sulfur Oxide) in accordance with the latest MARPOL regulation. In addition, an innovative heat recovery system patented by Chantiers de l’Atlantique is used in order to save hundreds of tons of fuel per year. This system also allows for a reduction of CO2 emission by providing the necessary heat to different parts of the ship (such as the sanitary, the pools, the heaters, etc.) through the optimal recovery of the heat generated by the diesel-generator engines.
