The Arkona substation’s topside left the Forme B the 29th of January in the afternoon to be transferred into the Forme 1, belonging to the Port Authorities.
Just this once, a new transfer took place in the “Chantiers de Saint-Nazaire”. The Arkona offshore substation is, thus far, the largest electrical station that was built for maritime wind farm.
Indeed, it is a 50 meters wide and 35 meters long unit that was brought by 2 tugs on a cutter to the Forme 1.
Once settled in the Baltic sea, the Arkona substation will be connected to 60 wind turbines and will supply almost 400,000 households in 2019.
